Meeting Presentation

Topic: GNU/Linux Installation Tips & Tricks 

COLUG members will demonstrate the installation of several leading
GNU/Linux distributions (Debian, Gentoo, Slackware, and others as
volunteers step forward) highlighting common pitfalls and how to avoid
them.  Installers will share their disk partitioning strategies and
rationale, post-install tweaks, and maybe a few time-saving shortcuts.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a box or two.  Installation media will
be on hand, as will a CD burner or two (so bring blank discs!).  Now's
your chance to try out that flavour of GNU/Linux you've been considering,
or get expert help with that problematic hardware!

The upcoming meeting is open to the general public, and all with an
interest in Free Software, Open Source, Apache, MySQL, Perl, PHP,
sendmail, Linux, BSD, Unix, Windows, or whatever, are invited.  Well ...
maybe not Windows, except those in recovery ...

The October 2003 meeting will be held at:

...The group has met on the LAST Wednesday or LAST Saturday of a month,
alternating by month to allow more folks to mesh their schedules with
COLUG's.  Sites and dates also depend on facility availabity, with
common-sense relocation in the holiday season.

The NEXT month's following meeting is scheduled on Saturday, December 22
