Followup-to: colugx@colug.net MEETING NOTICE ============== Central Ohio Linux Users Group Date: Wednesday, 28 January, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM local Meeting Presentation ==================== Topic: Simple Email Security This month we will look at some simple ways to protect your email. This should be considered a follow-up to the October 2003 meeting introducing the Postfix MTA. First we will protect Postfix SMTP traffic with TLS (Transport Layer Security), encrypting email in transit when available. This will include a brief discussion (ripped verbatim from the Postfix+TLS website!) of key management and being your own Certificate Authority. Members are encouraged to share and discuss TLS extensions to their favorite MTA (Sendmail, Exim, qmail, other)! Josh Glover will then introduce us to GPG, the GNU Privacy Guard, for digitally signing and encrypting email. We'll learn about private and public keys, how to use them, and how to keep them safe. If enough people are interested, we'll have a key signing party! Members are encouraged to share and discuss GPG integration with their favorite MUA (mutt, pine, Mozilla, Evolution, KMail, other)!
