Performance Analysis Engineer for New Storage Products. - Denver


Job Duties/Responsibilities:Your job responsibilities will be analyzing
performance of linux-based products and making performance improvements to
these products.  Based on results from performance test runs, you will be
expected to be able to analyze the test results, analyze the linux code and
identify where improvements can be made.    You will work with performance
test/tools group to identify additional tests run and tools to create to
further the analysis work.   You may also work with customers to understand
their applications and requirements with respect to performance, as well as
analyzing customer-specific performance data. NEED experience with
instrumentation and coding in the Linux kernel!


 Requirements/Preferred Experience:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

*	A minimum of 5 years experience in linux development or 2 years
performance benchmarking and tuning in a linux environment
*	Ability to understand expected application behavior and characterize
it using performance tools
*	Ablity to characterize "system" behavior and identify bottlenecks
*	Ability to build system behavior models for scalability
*	Expertise in all levels of the operating system is not required,
however the ability to examine the code and make modifications at various
levels is required
*	Networking skills a plus especially with respect to identifying and
fixing network bottlenecks
*	Must have an interest and ability to "dig in" unfamiliar code to
understand performance behavior
*	Experience with performance tools such as iozone, iometer, bonnie,
SpecSFS 
*	Must be very detailed and technically oriented, with the ability to
drive problems down to their root-causes and recommend and/or implement
solutions. 
*	Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to
disseminate complex technical information to other team members.
*	Must work well in a team environment including working with groups
outside of engineering such as test and support.
*	Must be able to work with customers and customer-facing teams
appropriately.

Education/Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
