David,
I'm curious what you mean by SuSE going to the pipe. Hopefully without
causing a Distro Flame War, you can explain in a little more detail.
For me, it was acting so erratic. To name a few my cursor would jump all over
the screen, the keys on the keyboard would stick and start repeating
themselves a high rate of speed, like the key was stuck down. mounting the
dvd seems like it took forever. And there was more, like rebooting for no
appearant reason, freezing up requiring a hard reboot, but I just got so
fusturated with it and left it behind.
Now I installed FC 5 and now:
1. Getting FC to see my wireless network card was so much harder than either
SuSE or Mandrake, installing flash for the x86_64 arc was not easy either,
and now I got java working with konq, but can't get it working with firefox,
but I got the flash working with firefox by using the i386 version, but it
doesn't work with konq.
and
2. Now I can't for the life of me get my smb shares to let me as a user write
to them, but with SuSE it was simple.
I'm sorry, I'm just so frustrated right now.
