[COLUG] RoadRunner dial-up magic?

Over the river and through the woods to narrow-band land we go.

At our holiday destination, 28kbps is the only available connection to
the real world.   Years ago I put a Windows partition on the laptop
and installed RR's dialup package, but when I inspected what all was
done, felt it was a little too "invasive" for my liking, and wiped it.

Does anyone know the send-expect magic and ppp params to get
and old-style modem connection to Road Runner?
