Travis, I replied in this manner for many times my mail to
COLUG does not hit the list.

Do we sell Linux short?

I was a DOS user before windows came out. MS sent me a
trial version that I did not like, and I never looked back.

I was introduced to Linux in 1995 or so and in about 2 years
I removed all traces of MS from my system. No dual boot for me.

I have occasionally set down in front of a MS box, my wife uses it,
so I don't have much familiarity with it. BUT I have never seen a
Windose box set up to do the things mine does.

I started out using Gnome, but came to prefer KDE, when they
became available.

Right now my desktop is organized with 14 different desktops, available
all of the time. Running Top, su terminal, several browsers,
webcam viewer, print server for my home network, and other things.
I also have icons listed for 8 or so other applications.

Now admittedly, I have 1GB of RAM, 122GB H/D, which continually
amazes me for I remember my 640K memory and 10MB H/D, but
the lower prices of technology are mostly available for any pocketbook.

Now I ask the question. Can Windows do anything near this? That is why
I raise the question....Are we selling Linux short?

Peace...........................ed
