Hello,
I'm a new list member. I am using Ubuntu 6.06 (Dapper). I'd like to
talk to anyone who has compiled and run the DReaM software
(http://drm.sourceforge.net) under Linux, or who would be willing to
help me through the build. The instructions on Sourceforge use .RPM
files and Ubuntu uses .DEB. Also, doing some web searching, I've seen
that some people have some problems getting it to work under Ubuntu, and
those that do mention commands and options with which I'm unfamiliar. I
have a machine that I can afford screw up, but I'd rather not. I am able
to run the Windows version (from a compiled binary) on this same machine
(dual boot).
DReaM is an open source software decoder for DRM. For those not familiar
with the "other" definition of DRM (i.e. not digital rights management),
DRM stands for Digital Radio Mondiale. It is a form a digital radio
broadcasting, not used in the US, but used in other countries and
accessible in the US via shortwave frequencies.
Thanks,
Mark
