[COLUG] My weak understanding of BIOS

Heyo, all.

I picked up a "bargain" (free, because it didn't work) 1 Ghz embedded
system last week (it's a little CV860A 3R10 in a "light" case) which,
unfortunately, doesn't work.  I have fan motion, but no BIOS POST beeps and
no video or keyboard signal.  My recollection of this level of hardware
debugging is that this is indicative of a power supply or board problem.  I
pulled the compact flash and memory, but still got no improvement.

I'm looking for suggestions as to references (I'm not limited to online) to
look at in trying to track the problem on the board.  I usually just
replace boards when they fail like this, but I'm looking at this as a
learning experience to improve my understanding of hardware, and have a
slightly irrational want to make this box work.
