[COLUG] Dead coyote

COLUGers,

My ancient coyote firewall box has finally died.  I
can't complain too much, since I got a lot of use out
of that 486.

However, the attempt to transplant the NICs into
another box I had laying around has just resulted in
several hours of frustration.

Although both NICs (3c509, NE2000 clone) are
recognized, the NE2000 clone doesn't work.

Since I no longer have the floppies that came with the
card, I cannot reset the interrupt (15) and base
address (0x320) to see whether that might resolve the
issue.

Any suggestions on a good migration path to something
that will actually serve my purposes without costing
me several additional hours of time?
