I don't know that giving out exacting information is good for a number
of reasons.
Firstly it gives them a challenge with a basis of where to start, and if
they are geek inclined they will try to beat the system, not for
nefarious purposes but simply to see if they can.
Another thing is it may push them into doing something somewhere else
where you can't monitor.
This is something I will face in future as well, I have a 14 month old
daughter and I don't see any easy solutions to this situation in the
future, so while it's a ways off I just know it's something I'm going to
have to face in the future.
Generally most advice given on this subject is to place the computer in
a well used part of the house so you don't just monitor what they've
done in the past, but you are keeping an eye on them and that is a
bigger stumbling block for kids to over come and not get caught :)
