My server is beginning to experience hardware failures, and I'm
beginning to grow tired of managing it.
I'm looking at SliceHost, from which I'd like to purchase a virtual
private server. They use Xen, and at least two people have happily
recommended them to me. Unfortunately there's a waiting list for new
customers.
Are there any other VPS hosting providers I ought to examine? I've
heard decent things about UnixShell, but they're not currently accepting
new customers.
UnixShell recommends TekTonic. They seem to offer a wee bit more for
the money, but I've never heard of them. (Someone just told me that
TekTonic and UnixShell are the same folks. The former use Virtuozzo,
and the latter use Xen.)
What else is out there? If you use a VPS, which one? Do you like it?
What drawbacks have you experienced?
Thanks!
Scott
