It's undoubtedly a lower-memory option.  I can only take on learning so
many new things at once, though!  This time it was Dovecot.

I wrestled with this for some time.  Never having paid attention to my
bandwidth consumption before, I didn't have any idea of how much I might
regularly use.

At home, my DSL uplink is slower than even their lowest unmetered
connection, so it seemed a good idea to me to get an unmetered account
with limitless monthly throughput.

But at work I have a considerably faster connection, and I'm sure there
will be times when I want to transfer something (say, backups) faster
than than the unmetered connection offers.

In the end, I chose metered bandwidth.  200 GB monthly cap.  So far,
I've used ~5 GB, due almost entirely to transferring my users' data from
the old server to the VPS.
