_If_ you are patient, you can get an old HP LJ 4(+, M, or M+) 
very cheap or free. They are super super workhorses. Some come 
with the Postscript module. Some come with the network card. 
Even if you don't have those modules, they can be added cheaply 
from Ebay. 

Having Postscript means it'll work with all computers, 
and that drivers just are not an issue. 

I paid full price for the first one in '94. It's still fine. 
I replaced some rollers a few years ago for $20. I bought a spare 
printer for $20 a few years ago, and a few months ago, I was given 
yet another spare. All work. 

A $100 toner cartridge lasts me about 10000 pages.
