[COLUG] Network laser printer for both Mac OS 9.x and CUPS

I've got a 2080N and I'm not overly impressed with it. It comes with a "starter" toner, and within the first month of having it (less than 1k pages), it started to send errors about toner being low. It can be configured to email all status events, but there's no granularity. Every time my wife opens the paper tray to add paper, I get an email. And the subject line triggers my spam filters because of strange whitespace.

Print quality is reasonable and setup/config is easy (web interface and dhcp capable). Paper handling is fine as well, no jams that I can remember in the almost year I've had it.

Subject: [COLUG] Network laser printer for both Mac OS 9.x and CUPS

I need an inexpensive home laser network printer to use with Linux
(presumably CUPS) and Mac OS 9.x. (My wife's LaserWriter 320 finally
died.) Any suggestions?

I see that the Brother 2070N claims to have drivers for those two
systems and goes for about $125. Any experience using it at the same
time with OS 9.x and Linux?

Thanks,

David Riggs
