It appears that SWACO is no longer sponsoring their computer recycling drives and are now recommending a recycling service.  I spoke with the service today, and although their website says "little or no cost", they quoted me $15 per item.  I've got several monitors and cases I want to get rid of (all very old, some not working) and several peripherals, so their prices are too much for me.  Short of just putting this stuff on the curb at trash day, does anyone know of any way to get rid of it?
