Hey Colug.
So I am in the midst of getting my linux systems together.
Due to a shortage of hardware/storage/time I find myself wanting to
install ubuntu -386 on my amd athlon 64 system ?
Downloading the 64 bit version will take another evening of waiting.
I need this system and this disk as a dual boot for the amd system. I
also need to transfer some stuff off of another system before I
resinstall on top of that one.
So the point is.. I need a temporary or perhaps permanent quick linux
install on this system.
As I recall using a 32 bit system on a 64 bit chip should be no
problem. Just making sure before I begin.
Any thing wrong or impossible about this install, 32 bit onto 64 bit
hardware ?
No need to remind me that this might be a silly move, I can always
blow this system away. I just have one blank disk big enough to hold
the data I need to transfer off of the real system involved. That one
disk is SATA, my SATA system is AMD/64. Once I get my data onto
another disk the real task at hand is putting ubuntu onto a PIII so
in the end everything will make sense.
