What you could try, to figure out what is freezing, is open a terminal
and start "top" to view the processes consuming processor time. Then
start OO. Hopefully, the time waster will be listed at the top of the
list. "Top" also shows processor and memory usage. If it does not freeze
too, it will tell you if you are out of memory. To exit "top", type a q.
What was freezing my computer was the KDE sound system which I disabled
and then no freeze ups. However, my freeze ups occurred at anytime, not
just during OO.
