I have installed 64 bit Feisty on my Acer 5100 laptop and after MANY
hours of searching on various sites, I have found nothing which works
solving the pci problem shown here in the lspci output:

00:00.0 Host bridge: ATI Technologies Inc RS480 Host Bridge (rev 10)
00:01.0 PCI bridge: ATI Technologies Inc RS480 PCI Bridge
00:04.0 PCI bridge: ATI Technologies Inc RS480 PCI Bridge
00:05.0 PCI bridge: ATI Technologies Inc Unknown device 5a37
00:12.0 IDE interface: ATI Technologies Inc ATI 4379 Serial ATA
Controller (rev 80)
00:13.0 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 USB Host
Controller (rev 80)
00:13.1 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 USB Host
Controller (rev 80)
00:13.2 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 USB2 Host
Controller (rev 80)

Unknown device 5a37?

Anyone have a clue as to what this means?

I have found it all over the internet but no one seems to address it
specifically and gives a clue about what it is or does. It seems to be
related to OpenGL or something, but everything I have tried does not
work. This has been a problem for quite a few versions of Linux and Kubuntu.

I have installed Beryl, ATI drivers, played with xorg, etc. I would
really like to know what device 5a37 is, and what it does. I even
checked the device register for device codes without success.

Another error which I have not tried to solve is:

06:04.3 FLASH memory: ENE Technology Inc FLASH memory: ENE Technology
Inc: (rev 01)
06:04.4 FLASH memory: ENE Technology Inc Unknown device 0551 (rev 01)

Unknown device 0551?

I believe this one is for the built in flash card reader. They may be
related. If so, can some one please show me where to get info.

Thanks,

Charlie Morrison
