Sometimes it help to embrace the dark side and try a legacy OS 
to see what clues it will release. Control panel, system, ...

My first search hit yielded:

but of course, you've already been there. My guess would be webcam or modem. 
Look in files on http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/modemident.php 
and look for 5a37 to see if it's for a (Conexant) (soft)modem.

Maybe not. Maybe card reader, camera, or modem.
