I saw what I think is the same calculator (at the Dollar Store). I
administer amateur radio license exams as we are looking for inexpensive
scientific calculators that we can let the applicants use (we are an all
volunteer organization and do not charge for our service, so funds are
limited). We bought a unit for evaluation and the one we got was
defective. One segment was out of each of the LCD digits (probably a bad
solder joint to the LCD panel). We also found that by applying slight
pressure to the case near the panel we could affect the display. We are
going to try and get another unit to see if our particular unit was a
fluke. I appreciate that for the price, we are not going to get first
class manufacturing, but I don't want to be responsible for a calculator
that gives incorrect results.
