FreeGeek Columbus does indeed get paid for many of the materials we
recycle. Circuit boards, processors, and drives all earn us money. The
recycler eventually sells the raw materials to other companies.

There are two other benefits to donating to FreeGeek Columbus:
1) we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and will give you a
receipt for your donation, which you may be able to claim as a tax deduction
2) we do not send any electronic waste to landfill. The recycler with
whom we work has given us a certificate attesting to their no-landfill
policy. Do you know the ultimate disposition of the items Sam's Club
will receive?

Cheers,
Scott
