Whew.  OOo is a pig.  I like it and it works great w/ enough resources.  But 
it's not lightweight by any measure.  You might need to look for alternatives 
there.

As for lightweight distros, you could try DSL-N.  It's like Damn Small Linux's 
big brother but still pretty lightweight.  I've not used it myself, though, 
so I can't vouch for it specifically...just that is appears to fit the bill.
