As much of a fan of nano as I am I find GUI email apps more efficient
especially when I need to drag a bunch of emails into sub folders etc.

I've been testing out a few apps today and kmail seemed to choke when I
pointed it to my imap server, not sure if it's an SSL/TLS bug/issue or
the fact I have > 2G and > 65k emails.
I finally became extremely annoyed with how slow gnome is getting since
the dapper release of Ubuntu and I had a bit of time on my hands and I
installed xubuntu-desktop (meta package) and got up and running with
XFCE instead of gnome and when I found it "close enough" to my needs I
couldn't have been more gleeful then when I was dumping all the mono
crap from my system.
I've been pondering switching to KDE but there didn't seem to be much
gain in that so I never got round to it.
That said however xubuntu lacks a wireless gui util that can configure
WPA-EAP wireless settings and I test out apps as much for other people
as I do for myself so the only way round this is to install a KDE or
Gnome interface for the network manager.
