[COLUG] undo kernel build?

I had rebuilt my Ubuntu Dapper kernel to support my ATI Radeon 200M
video card. Things were working, but I couldn't get fglrx working.

I used envy to install an updated ATI driver.  However, it looks like
the updated driver doesn't work properly. When I run aticonfig, I get a
segmentation fault. aticonfig was working with the previous driver.

I tried to rebuild the kernel with the older ATI driver, but it detects
the newer driver and won't update the kernel. How do I force it to go
back to the older version?

Or am I going about this wrong?
