15 megabytes per second from Time Warner [COLUG]

How many others are getting similar calls? 

I just got a sales call from Time Warner offering "Turbo" upgrade 
to 15 megabytes per second(sic). I was very surprised, and thought 
that it was a mistake, so I asked if it was megaBITs per second, 
or megaBYTEs per second. She definitely answered that it was 
BYTEs, not BITs. Then she said it was at least three times 
faster than what I have. Again, it didn't smell right, as my best 
(download) speed is about 600kbytes/s (or about 5Mbits/s). 
I thought again that she was confusing bits and bytes. 
She then spelled out how "byte" was written on what she was reading:
