While it may be misleading, how many average users would really know or
care?
If you really wanted to pursue this, can you prove it was company policy
or simply a confused sales droid?
It's a bit like jumping up and down about HDD sizes, all that came about
from that was yet another way of confusing everyone with GB and GiB etc.
Have you achived your original goal here, or did you simply waste all
your time over explaining yourself in these emails? :)
