[COLUG] Laptop Reccomendations

I am considering using a Dell Inspiron 600M W/Centrino processor. It will be very cheap from a neighbor.

Can anybody recommend a distro, and version that works well w/this model. It is supposed to have wireless, but Idon't see it yet. Are there any Distros that have a handle on the wireless and the laptop winmode? At least it has a serial port that I can hook up an exteral MODEM to, though not convienient.

It has PCMIA port. Any PCMIA wireless cards I can use w/Linux.
