I have a sony and while they may have a lot of downsides, I can't fault
them really with their support, they sent out a couple of replacement
hdd's once I convinced them the hdd was making clicks of death noises
after I had problems reading the drive.
After I wasn't able to replace the hdd, they sent a tech out and
replaced the hdd and motherboard and haven't had an issue since.
That a side, in future I'm thinking (I thought it was Philips but seems
to be Panasonic) sell a toughbook range, that are rugged laptops, think
military/mining/agriculture etc, and are usable outside in broad
daylight apparently, I've simply had too many flimsy laptops have bits
break off that really shouldn't, but there is a premium etc.

A lot of companies that offer laptops with vista have a downgrade to XP
option available too many people just didn't want vista, who'd a thunk it.
