Howdy,

This is partly linux-related as the end result will be used with a Linux 
computer to do datalogging and control.  :)

For folks who do any kind of hardware hacking requiring the manufacture of 
PCB's: what do you use for layout and routing?

In the past I've been known to get the cheap kits from Radio Shack that include 
small copper-clad boards, echant, and a tank.  I create the traces by using the 
small rub-on vinyl appliques.

This project is going to be a little more challenging because there are 3-4 
SOIC's and other assorted discrete components.

I found this, but it is old and may not support SOIC layout:

Obviously I'm looking for free software.
