Sounds a lot like some VoIP providers (e.g. Gizmo, www.gizmoproject.com),
but without the direct VoIP part. :-)

OK, that part is different; I think getting free/cheap VoIP with a
relatively local area code is rare, though I'm sure Duane could correct
me on that. :-)

740 is actually all of central and southeast Ohio that isn't the immediate
Columbus area. The 740 region used to be 614, back when Ohio had only
four area codes and all area codes had a 0 or 1 as the middle digit.
(740 is my area code in Licking county, east of Columbus.)
