[COLUG] Building your own hi-tech gadget

Wow!!!  This is something I've wanted for years!  Trying to assemble a 
useful "toy" starting with boards, connectors, and mostly 
incomprehensible specs has always seemed like a hurdle that's too high.  
I'm hoping these components will be moderately priced so it's affordable 
to play.
