Check out the Apache ActiveMQ for Message Brokering.

http://activemq.apache.org

This is the message broker incorporated in the Geronimo server. It
supports multiple language clients and protocols.

Are they related?

I was under the impression that the WebSphere MQ/Apache ActiveMQ
relationship was similar to the Geronimo Server/WebSphere Application
Server relationship.
