If it is going to be mostly educational and you want your RHCE, then you 
should go for it.  There are numerous howtos for handling the security 
and filtering.  Start off with a basic configuration and add filtering 
tools one at a time, as to better understand how each works with your 
setup.  Just my 2cents.
