Yes, I got excellent life from my CRT monitors, before I made the move
to LCD.  I had a 21" NEC refurb that I used for over 10 years. It was
still working when I stopped using it.  When I bought it, it had a bad
pixel.  10+ years later, that was still only the bad pixel.

In a similar vein (and totally off the subject), my wife and I have a
25" CRT (the only connection to this thread) based analog console color
TV that we purchased back in 1982. It's still going strong, with an
excellent picture and sound (mono-it's too old for stereo). It hasn't
had any service. It gets several hours of use almost every each day.  If
it makes it to 2009 and the switch to digital TV, I will consider that
it outlived it's technology.
