Is "DID" == <URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct_inward_dialing > ?

So essentially, if a group of people bought a chunk, they could use  
each one of the 100-set as a pointer to their existing ph#.

Is this not similar to what Google's GrandCentral <URL: http://grandcentral.com/
