There's always the old saw: You get what you pay for. My experience is
that is generally true, but you don't always get better by paying more.
Some things to think about are does the new battery have more or less
cells than your current battery, and what kind of battery technology is
used in the new battery? This might be relevant for older laptops. Where
are the cells inside the battery case manufactured? Ones from Mexico are
generally poor, Japanese are generally excellent.
