I have personally been buying the WD RAID drives lately. I haven't
really had any in service long enough to make a real determination. I
think I have had one or two make it through a summer in my office
where ambient room temp is 90F or higher.

At one of my recent jobs we had been buying Maxtors because they were
cheap and we were good at replacing drives. Our datacenter was hard
on parts.

I imagine the deskstars have improved but in 2002ish I bought 30 and 8
in that batch failed within 6 months.
